Policy

1. Who we are

The Matcher extension is developed and operated by the Matcher team, based in Brazil. For privacy questions, contact us by email at suporte@trymatcher.com.

2. What the extension does and when it acts

The Matcher extension works on LinkedIn pages and synchronization pages on the trymatcher.com domain. It displays a "Matcher" button on LinkedIn job pages so you can save a job to your dashboard.

The extension does not collect general browsing history. It reads LinkedIn page content only to the extent necessary to detect job pages/lists, show indicators for already saved jobs and save a job when you confirm that action.

When there are jobs saved locally or when you are signed in, the extension may also sync data with your Matcher account to keep the extension panel and Matcher Web updated. The extension does not run artificial intelligence features and is not the system responsible for definitive account storage; those features belong to Matcher Web.

3. Data collected or processed

The extension may collect or process the following data:

• Job data: title, company, location, description, job URL, LinkedIn job identifier and job source.
• Organization data: application status, update date, application date, notes, rejection reason and match score when this data exists in the Matcher dashboard.
• Account data: name and email displayed in the extension panel when you are authenticated.
• Authentication data: session token used to sync the extension with your Matcher account.
• Preferences and settings: extension language, configuration flags and indication that the extension onboarding has already been seen.
• Direct login data in the extension: if you choose to sign in with email and password inside the extension panel, this data is transmitted to Matcher for authentication. The password is not stored by the extension.
• Technical data: technical records of API requests, such as time, endpoint, request status, IP address and error information needed for security, debugging and abuse prevention. Tokens and credentials are treated as sensitive data and should not be publicly exposed.

The extension does not collect LinkedIn messages, connection lists, LinkedIn authentication cookies, financial information, health data, device contacts or general browsing history.

4. How data is collected

• Reading the LinkedIn page: the content script identifies job pages/lists and reads visible elements or structured page data, such as title, company, description, location, URL and job ID.
• User action: job data is saved when you click the "Matcher" button and confirm saving. You can edit title and company before saving.
• Description completion: if the description is missing or incomplete, the extension may request the LinkedIn job URL itself to try to complete the description. This request is used only to obtain job content.
• Account synchronization: when you sign in or trigger synchronization, the extension sends local jobs to Matcher Web/API and receives back the jobs/statuses associated with your account.
• Login bridge: on the trymatcher.com/login/sync page, the extension captures a session token generated by the Matcher web application and stores it locally to authenticate future calls.

5. How we use data

We use data collected by the extension to:

• save LinkedIn jobs locally and sync them with your Matcher Web account;
• show on LinkedIn whether a job is already saved or applied;
• sync jobs, notes, statuses and rejection reasons between the extension and the web dashboard;
• allow login, logout and identification of the connected account;
• allow editing, deleting and clearing saved jobs;
• send to Matcher Web the jobs you decide to sync;
• maintain security, prevent abuse, fix errors and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use data collected by the extension for personalized ads, retargeting, data sales, credit evaluation, loans or advertising profile creation.

6. How data is stored

The extension stores data locally in the browser and may sync that data with Matcher Web. Permanent account storage, when synchronization occurs, is handled by the Matcher Web/API platform, not by the extension alone.

• Locally in the browser, in chrome.storage.local, including saved jobs (jt_jobs), language (jt_language), settings (matcher_config), authentication token (auth_token) and onboarding state.
• In Matcher Web/API, when you are authenticated and use synchronization, to keep jobs and statuses available in your account.
• In Matcher Web infrastructure, including database and services needed to operate the account, web dashboard, jobs, applications, notes and synced statuses.

Traffic between the extension, website and Matcher API uses HTTPS. The authentication token is stored locally to maintain extension synchronization and should be removed when signing out or uninstalling the extension.

7. Artificial intelligence

The Matcher Chrome extension does not run artificial intelligence features, does not connect directly to AI providers and does not send data directly to Google Gemini or other AI models.

AI features exist only in Matcher Web, such as compatibility analysis or resume generation. If you use these features in Matcher Web, jobs synced by the extension may be processed by the web platform together with data from your professional profile or resume, only when you request these features on the site.

Data synced by the extension is not used to train public AI models.

8. Extension permissions

The extension requests only strictly necessary permissions:

• storage — store jobs, language, settings and authentication token locally in the browser;
• https://www.linkedin.com/* — inject the Matcher button, detect jobs and capture the job data you decide to save;
• https://trymatcher.com/* — allow login synchronization with the Matcher web application;
• https://api.trymatcher.com/* — authenticate and sync jobs, statuses and changes associated with your Matcher Web account.

9. Data sharing and involved parties

We do not sell, rent or share data collected by the extension for personalized advertising, retargeting, data brokers or commercial purposes unrelated to the service.

For the extension, data is shared only with the Matcher Web/API platform and the infrastructure needed to deliver the website and synchronization. Payments, transactional emails, social login and AI features are Web platform features, not extension features.

Extension data may be shared with the following parties, exclusively to operate, protect or sync the extension with Matcher Web:

• Matcher Web / Matcher API (api.trymatcher.com): receives job data, organization data and authentication token to sync the extension with your web account.
• Railway: infrastructure used by Matcher Web/API to operate the service and maintain account, job and application data synced.
• Cloudflare: used for website hosting, DNS, CDN, security and delivery of the domain trymatcher.com, including pages related to the extension and synchronization.
• Public authorities or third parties needed for legal protection: only when required by law, valid order, security investigation or rights defense.

Services such as Google Gemini, Google OAuth, Resend and Asaas may be used by the Matcher Web platform when you use website features, such as AI, social login, account emails or payments. These services are not triggered by the extension to save jobs or sync data.

LinkedIn does not receive from Matcher the data saved in your account. The extension only reads LinkedIn pages in your browser and may request the job URL to complete the description, without sending LinkedIn notes, statuses, Matcher account data or analyses.

10. Limited Use statement

Data use by the extension is limited to the purpose of capturing, locally organizing and syncing job opportunities with the Matcher Web account, as well as providing related features requested by the user within the extension itself.

Use of information received by the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

We do not allow humans to read user data collected by the extension, except when: you request specific support and consent to review; it is necessary for security and abuse prevention; it is required by law; or the data is aggregated/anonymized for internal operations.

11. Data retention

Local data remains in the browser while the extension is installed or until you clear jobs, sign out or remove local data.

Data synced with Matcher Web remains while your account is active or while necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or maintain legitimate operational records.

When uninstalling the extension, data in chrome.storage.local is removed by the browser. This does not automatically delete data already synced with your Matcher Web account; for that, use the web dashboard controls or request account deletion.

12. Your rights and controls

You may, at any time:

• delete an individual job in the extension panel or web dashboard;
• clear all local jobs through the extension popup/panel;
• request deletion of jobs synced with Matcher Web when authenticated;
• sign out of the extension and remove the local token;
• uninstall the extension to remove local browser data;
• request access, correction, portability or deletion of your account data by email at suporte@trymatcher.com.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the extension. The "last updated" date at the top of the page indicates the latest version. Continued use of the extension after changes means acceptance of the new policy.
